"WHOSE PUPPET?"

SUSTAINABILITY & THE OCEAN

Winner of  THE CHAIRPERSON'S CHOICE AWARD 2015 Westchester 4th of July Parade

Just as the parade theme, "American Beach Party," was announced, a rusty pipe burst off the coast of Santa Barbara, spewing tons of raw oil onto our Pacific Coast. The tar killed sea life and birds and contaminated beaches from Santa Barbara to south of Los Angeles.

Our parade entry:  "Whose Puppet?" raised questions of who is pulling the strings and making choices that determine the very existence of our "American Beach Party."

Our parade participants included fish, bird, and human puppets in a sea of blue and black (tar stained) umbrellas.  Our giant hand dangled the globe on a string.

Our entry was 99% sustainable:  made of  re-used and biodegradable materials.
